Having had a fantastically varied career I am now practicing retirement

After Graduating in Ceramics and Sculpture I ran Aberdeen Craft Pottery in the centre of Aberdeen producing a range of functional and decorative stoneware ceramics

My first real job was at Decca Recording Studios in London where I got experience recording many of the top bands of the day including the Moody Blues, John Mayall and many others

I have played bass from the age of 16, and have performed as a professional musician in many bands over the years, I have made a great number musician friends

While at Art School I joined the University Air Squadron, eventually gaining my commission as an officer in the Royal Air Force where I had the privilege of flying single engine jets

As Northsound Radio was being built, I started working there as a sound engineer, and eventually became Chief Engineer, it was great to be involved at the start of the independent  radio revolution

Following Northsound, I started to re-educate myself through the Open University, studying Mathematics, Electronics, Instrumentation and Computing. This led to a long and interesting career in the oil industry. Working for service companies, the UK Atomic Energy Authority, SGS, Texaco and eventually Chevron where I specialised in negotiating complex oil and gas commercial agreements. I still do commercial consulting and have worked for a range of oil companies, through my company Falconer Consulting
