Another Camel
After starting to document my life story, I decided to expanded the chapter covering my time playing in bands to include memories of the fantastic bands and musicians that have crossed my path over the years. I am sure that this will bring back many memories.

Bands in the northeast of Scotland relied on a number of booking Agents: Gordon Hardie who looked after the Aberdeen area, Albert Bonici based in Elgin had the northern area under his control.
Albert in connection with Gordon Hardie booked the Beatles to play at the Two Red Shoes Ballroom in Elgin on 3 January 1963, and Aberdeen Beach Ballroom on the 6th January. Albert was very business focused, and on one occasion took the Small Faces to court over their failure to perform, as reported in the Peoples Journal.
The Aberdeenshire country venues were controlled by Bert Ewan from Inverurie, fondly known as “Bapper”, being an ex-baker. Bert was known to check out how new bands were going down at the dance venues, he would turn up in his favourite jumper, and slippers.
